Taroudannt is located in the Souss valley, surrounded by two mountain ranges, the High Atlas to the north and east, the Anti-Atlas to the south; To the west, the plain opens onto the Atlantic. This fertile valley is crossed by the Wadi Souss which runs along the city. On its territory, Taroudant has the highest mountain in North Africa, Mount Toubkal 4,167 meters. Taroudant is a historic city in southwestern Morocco, situated at the heart of the fertile Souss plain. It lies approximately 80 kilometers east of Agadir and about 60 kilometers from Agadir Al Massira International Airport, making it easily accessible from the region’s main coastal hub. The city is also located around 250 kilometers southwest of Marrakech, placing it between two of Morocco’s major urban centers. Known for its well-preserved ramparts, traditional souks, and rich cultural heritage, Taroudant serves as an important economic and agricultural center in the Souss region.
